To understand the information, services and facilities that are available at our Hysterical Histories venue or on our walking tours please see below. If we have not covered your access needs please call or text our Artistic Director Angela Newman on 087 641 9355 or email us at hystericalhistoriesireland@gmail.com to discuss your needs and we will be delighted to offer assistance where we can.
Pre Arrival
Our Dinner theatre venue is: Amicus Restaurant, Paul Street, Cork, T12 WP97.
If you type the following code T12 WP97 into google maps it brings you to the correct street, then look for a big old brick building with large glass windows with amicus written over the door and you have found us.
Alternatively, when asking a person for directions ask for Amicus restaurant.
Our dinner theatre venue is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible and there are 42 steps (3 flights of stairs) up to our floor. This is due to our venue being a listed historic building.
All smoke alarms at our dinner theatre experience venue are equipped with flashing lights in order to alert those with hearing difficulties in case of an emergency.
Pre-Booking is Essential
Please book online, via phone or send us a text message and we can call you back to make a booking. We like to be as prepared as possible to meet everyone’s needs be they physical or dietary etc. We want everybody to have an enjoyable and stress-free time with us.
Accessible Public Transport and Taxi Services
Arriving by Car
Paul Street Car Park is located directly across the plaza from us and has wheelchair accessible spaces available for those with mobility issues.
Arriving by Taxi
We recommend downloading the FREENOW app on your mobile device prior to your arrival who have several accessible taxis. If pre-arranged a member of our team would be delighted to spend more time with you and assist you in getting to your taxi after the performance. Find out more about FREENOW.
Arriving by Bus
We are a 3-minute walk from Cork City’s main street (Patrick Street) where most public buses have a stop. Ask your driver if they can let you know when you reach the closest stop to Paul Street so you can disembark and make your way to us from there. If pre-arranged, we can sometimes meet groups at the bus stop and walk with you to our venue. Find out more on the Transport for Ireland Accessibility info page.
Arriving by Train
We only have one train station in Cork City which is called Kent Station. The station is a 15-minute walk from our venue. There are usually taxis available at the station if you would prefer to get to us that way alternatively you can download the Free now app listed above and pre – order one that meets your needs before your arrival.
We recommend buying your train tickets online to guarantee you have a seat especially on trains from other big cities in Ireland. Here is a link to Irish Rail accessibility guide which includes information about each station and on how to ask for assistance.
